In her honour, the Nabila Walji Foundation is proud to launch the Aga Khan Higher Secondary School, Alyabad, Hunza — a world-class K–12 institution that will provide quality education to over 1,200 students in one of Pakistan’s fastest-growing regions.

This $6 million USD initiative represents a dynamic and impactful collaboration, formalized through an MoU between Aga Khan Education Services, Pakistan and the Nabila Walji Foundation, with each organization committing 50% ($3 USD million each) of the total cost.

Enroll 1,200 students in a modern, purpose-built campus

Hunza is evolving. With economic growth, migration, and shifting demographics, Alyabad has become the largest hub in the district. However, access to quality education remains a major challenge. Currently, many children must settle for low-quality public and private schools, and boys face limited opportunities beyond Grade 10.
The Aga Khan Higher Secondary School, Alyabad will be a transformational institution, ensuring that young minds—both girls and boys—receive the best education, preparing them for university, careers, and leadership roles in Pakistan and beyond.
